Queens is one of the most diverse communities in the world. Fashion Week Queens reflects this global identity by elevating emerging and established talent and creating meaningful connections between fashion, culture, and community.

BK Style Foundation (BK|SF):

BK Style also lends a voice to social causes like human rights and civil liberties, HIV/AIDS awareness, poverty and community development.

This is done through partnering with organizations like Denim Day NYC, which raises awareness for sexual assault and domestic violence, the Art in Motion Show, Beauty for Freedom, the Soles4Souls Foundation, MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation and Global Fashion Exchange.

BK Style Foundation makes an impact through innovative clothing swap events, curated talks and cultural/social activities around the world.

Fashion Week Queens Makes History with Inaugural Runway Celebration

“Making History: Culture x Diversity = Community”

Queens, NY — July 2026 — The BK Style Foundation proudly announces the official launch of
Fashion Week Queens (FWQ), a groundbreaking cultural fashion platform dedicated to
celebrating the rich diversity, creativity, and community spirit that defines the Borough of
Queens. Founded by Rick Davy and Jack Mapira, Fashion Week Queens debuts under the
powerful theme:

“Making History: Culture x Diversity = Community.”

As one of the most diverse communities in the world, Queens has long been a global gateway of
cultures, ideas, entrepreneurship, and artistic expression. Fashion Week Queens aims to provide
a platform where fashion, culture, business, and community converge to celebrate the borough's
unique identity and inspire future generations.

The journey officially began on June 20th, when Queens Center hosted the first official
Fashion Week Queens model casting call, welcoming aspiring and professional models from
across New York City's diverse communities.

The celebration continues on July 17th, when Queens Center Mall will host an exclusive VIP
Ribbon-Cutting Reception, produced by Sarah's Angels Events and hosted by the Office of
the Queens Borough President. The invite-only gathering will bring together elected officials,
business leaders, sponsors, designers, media representatives, and community stakeholders to
commemorate the historic launch of the borough's first official Fashion Week platform.

The inaugural runway showcase will take place on July 18th at Queens Borough Hall in the
Atrium. Doors will open at 4:00 PM, with the runway presentations beginning at 5:00 PM.
Guests will experience collections from six to seven designers, representing the creativity,
innovation, and cultural influences that make Queens one of the most dynamic fashion
communities in the world.

A Platform for Community
Fashion Week Queens is more than a runway show—it is a movement designed to unite
neighborhoods, cultures, businesses, artists, and community organizations through fashion and
creative expression.

The organization is actively seeking partnerships and support from influential Queens

champions, including iconic artists such as LL Cool J, Nas, and 50 Cent, as well as Queens-
based corporations, small businesses, educational institutions, cultural organizations, and

community leaders.

"Our vision is to create a platform that truly reflects Queens—its diversity, resilience,
entrepreneurial spirit, and creative excellence," said co-founder Rick Davy. "This is about
recognizing the people, cultures, and communities that have shaped Queens and creating
opportunities for emerging talent to be seen, celebrated, and connected."

Co-founder Jack Mapira added, "Fashion Week Queens is an opportunity to build something
lasting for the borough. Through collaboration, inclusion, and community engagement, we can
establish a platform that showcases Queens to the world."

Making History Together
As Fashion Week Queens launches its inaugural season, organizers invite the public, media,
business community, sponsors, and cultural leaders to become part of a historic moment for the
borough.

Fashion Week Queens seeks to establish itself as an annual cultural destination that celebrates
fashion, entrepreneurship, diversity, and community while creating economic and creative
opportunities for future generations.
